"Last Taxi Ride"

Terry Camper never did anything to hurt anyone. He was a teddy bear kind of guy who loved working hard and driving people from the community of Peekskill, New York, anywhere they wanted to go. He had no idea that his wife, Beatrice Camper, had started dating prison inmate, John Murray, an ex-con who was already incarcerated for the murder of two people 30 years prior.

Turns out, Beatrice Camper, was tired of being married to her husband Terry, and she couldn't wait until her prison boyfriend was released from prison. After his release, they continued the affair. Then they concocted a plan to kill Terry Camper for the insurance money by luring him out under the guise of someone needing a taxi. When he arrived, he was shot to death by John Murray.

Needless to say, they are both where they belong......behind bars.

Tracey Renee Anderson, Robert Atlas

Clean-cut Robert Atlas didn't want the baby, and he didn't want to be tied down to a common-law wife. He wanted to party on Friday nights with his boys. Pretty Tracy Renee didn't deserved what happened to her. Atlas is claiming self defense. Self defense against what, exactly...a pregnant woman behind a locked front door and a locked bathroom door that YOU kicked down? Wow, the death penalty seems most likely for this handsome killer. (photo credit: Police file photo)

"Locked Out"

Case summary: Tracy Anderson was stabbed to death in March 2014. According to the medical examiners, the poor pregnant woman received stab wounds to the face and stomach by a very angry Robert Atlas. Robert Atlas was stressed out in the relationship with Tracy Anderson. Sources say, he didn't really love her and no longer wanted to be with her.

Motive: Police say Robert Atlas became enraged when Tracy Anderson locked him out of the house while he was out partying with his boys late that Friday night.

This was a very sad case that I had to cover this week. It reminded me so much of the Cherica Adams case. Another example of a man who doesn't know how to handle the pressures of family life.

Case summary:

This African American couple lived a posh life in the suburbs. Everyone thought they were the happy couple, until police learned that one of their own had shot and killed his own wife and tried to frame a Hispanic undocumented worker for the crime.

"Heart Shot"

African American Deputy cop Derrick Yancey brutally killed his wife Linda Yancey in their home. Linda Yancey was shot a total of three times, with the last shot hitting the heart. He also shot and killed undocumented immigrant Marcial Cax-Puluc.

When police arrived on the crime scene, it appeared that Derrick Yancey had been ambushed by Marcial Cax-Puluc. However, a deeper investigation helped police uncover a plot by Derrick Yancey to frame the illegal immigrant/undocumented worker for his wife's death.

Marcial Cax-Puluc was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Yancey picked up the undocumented worker for the sole purpose of framing him for his wife's murder.

Cherica Adams-Rae Carruth case

Here is a photo of Cherica Adams and Rae Carruth. Cherica was eight months pregnant when she was shot to death on a lonely street in North Carolina. (Photo credit: Police file photo)

"A Shot In The Dark"

Case summary: A beautiful African American pregnant woman was gunned down in her car by a man who had been hired by her football star boyfriend.

The motive: He didn't want to be tied down.

Case background:
In 1999, Cherica Adams was dating football star Rae Carruth, a man who played for the North Carolina Panthers. Things were not going very well in the relationship, but Cherica was hopeful that things would turn out ok, and that Rae Carruth would want to have a relationship with her and the baby as a family unit.

Carruth made her believe this was the case the night that he lured her out to a movie. Instead, he watched in his front rear view mirror as another man gunned her down in her car as she followed Carruth home. Police say that man, Van Brett Watkins, was hired by Rae Carruth to get rid of Cherica and the baby he never wanted.

Cherica Adams was shot a total of four times. But, she was able to pull over and call 911. Her 911 voice recordings were heard in the courtroom. She was able to scribble a note that indicated that Carruth watched as someone shot her.

She fell into a coma and died a few weeks later. Her son, Chancellor survived and continues to live with his loving grandmother Saundra Adams.

This is such a sad video, but also one that shows the strength of Saundra Adams and Chancellor Adams.

Listen to Cherica Adams 911 call

Even all these years later, I cry when I listen to this 911 call. You can hear the pain and the disappointment in Cherica's voice. She has to be in disbelief knowing that her boyfriend was capable of doing this to her.
